Busy September

Well September was busy before it even began- We had visitors staying with us, so a week full of activities. We took a trip to the zoo- and ended the week with Evan's first birthday!

This week we had the priviledge of Ryan's parents making the long drive from Seattle Washington to spend the week with us! We made a little guest room downstairs in our unfinished basement (which when it was hot was the best room in the whole house! ) and got to have guests stay with us! I love having a house :) They took some really great pictures and we had some really good times.

We took them to the library- where- in all honesty we found a book that talked about a boy finding out about his mother's tatoo :) It was hilarious!

We did alot of baking and Hailey is a big helper in the kitchen!

And we went to the park- Evan is my climber- he will try to climb anything - anywhere! He is quite the little daredevil- and in this one trip I think I saved his life 8-10 times! But what are moms for- right :)

Hailey on the other hand is so careful and cautious- I have to beg her to go down the slide! I am surprised I convinced her with help to touch the monkey bars :)

We took a trip to the zoo- which I have been waiting to do all summer because Evan loves animals and goes nuts when he sees one! I was not disappointed- it was a blast!
This little chicken playground is an interesting place- a little dirty but a great place for pictures.

I have got a real boy on my hands- he had no problem feeding the goats and having them lick his hands- Hailey on the other hand thought it was gross even watching us!

Hailey got a camera from her grandparents early for her birthday and she got really good at taking pictures of all the animals.

He couldn't stop pointing at every animal and everything that he saw- he was having the time of his life. Grunting and yelling watching him was the best part of the trip!

He had so much fun at the zoo, we might just have to sneak one more visit in before it gets too cold!
We had a baseball themed first birthday party- I am not very good at birthday parties and hopefully I will get better but for my third birthday party ever I think I did pretty well. There were decorations, food, and cake! All the makings of a decent party. But the best thing was we had family there. My family and Ryan's which made it pretty special.

He got some new clothes courtesy of his wonderful Aunt Lisa and Uncle Eric!

And He really went at his cake. My sister in law Alyssa had made some cream cheese frosting and it really did feel like some kind of moisturizer, so Evan decided to coat himself with it :).

Of course his princess sister was very quick to lend a hand unwrapping and playing with all the birthday presents!

It was a great day and I am so blessed to have this little man in my life- he is happy, sweet, funny, and I am a very lucky mommy! Happy Birthday Evan :)
